If you're visiting the city of Quepos, one of the coolest things you can do is visit their twice weekly farmers market. This Quepos farmers market takes place every Friday (12pm-11pm) and Saturday (6am-12am). There you will find local vendors selling everything from fruits to art and jewelry. The market is located in the center of Quepos directly behind the central bus station but in the past has also been set up near the waterfront of Quepos. This market is a great substitue for a grocery store and you will likely be amazed by the variety of products you can purchase there. It's also a great place to find gifts or souvenirs and its a place where you can expect to get a fair price for anything you purchase. On Wednesday's there is also a smaller farmers market next to the church and main fútbol field in Quepos (8am-4pm).

The number one thing you will find at this market is locally grown fruits and vegetables. While you fill find a variety of fruits the best priced and most delicous are the tropical fruits like mangosteen, ramboutan, pineapples and mangos. One of the market's favorite treats is the fresh coconut water that can be purchased by the liter or gallon. This coconut water is as fresh as you can get and contains a magnitude of vitamins and natural electrolytes that are extremely useful in this hot climate.

If your looking for high quality meat or a tasty snack, look no further than the German butcher who sells different kinds of meat, both raw and cooked. Try to go early if you want to buy something, because he sells out quickly.

You can find a German guy that sells fruit trees as well. He specializes in all kinds of rare fruit trees, very interesting to get more information.
Souvenirs/clothes
There are some souvenirs as well. Some spiritual booths with necklaces and gemstones for example. A lot of necklaces, earrings, … are handmade. The locals love to tell you what it’s made of. You can also buy the typical Costa Rican souvenirs and some clothes as well.
Wooden bowls
There even is handmade pottery over there. Not only with clay as we all know, his bowls are made out of wood.
Natural products
You can find all different kinds of natural products. There is a farmer that made his products all natural and biological without chemicals like coconut oil, day cream, etc… He even sells sun cream and after sun. It’s based on honey from his bees.
After you go to the market, you can go get a cup of coffee or a nice smoothie in Quepos. They have many options and you’ll have an energy boost after drinking one. There’s a great atmosphere because many people from Quepos are going to the market on Friday and Saturday.
