Yes, Quepos provides safe potable water from the tap. We have never had anyone get sick from drinking the tap water.

  • What time does Manuel Antonio National Park open?

Manuel Antonio National Park is open from 7 am to 4 pm.  For more information about Manuel Antonio Park please see our blog post.

  • Do I need a guided tour for Manuel Antonio National Park?

While a guided tour is not necessary, we highly recommend the guided tour. Your experience with a guide is much more informational and valuable. In addition, purchasing a guided tour comes with door to gate transportation.  For more information please check out our blog post which covers this topic.

  • How to get to Corcovado National Park?

Villas Jacquelina can set up your shuttle transportation to Corcovado. There are also busses from Quepos but they are not direct.

  • Do you provide beach towels?

We do not provide beach towels and we do not allow our bath towels to be taken off site.

  • How to get to Manuel Antonio National Park from Villas Jacquelina?

The easiest way to get to the national park is to schedule a guided tour with Villas Jacquelina.  Guides pick you up from Villas Jacquelina and can also provide transportation back to the hotel if desired. If you don't want a guided tour,  Manuel Antonio National Park is a short walk and bus ride away.  Quepos main bus station has busses that drop you right next to the national park. Buses leave every 15 minutes, go back a forth all day long, and cost around 350 colones or 50 cents USD.

  • Why stay in Quepos over Manuel Antonio?

While Quepos and Manuel Antonio both have their benefits and disadvantages, Quepos is our choice for the best place to stay when in the area.  In Quepos, you are within walking distance of grocery stores, retail shopping, oceanfront parks, and Pez Vela Marina. Manuel Antonio tends to be a lot busier, a lot more expensive, and much harder to get around. If exploring on foot is important to you, better to stay with Villas Jacquelina in Quepos.

  • Are pets allowed at Villas Jacquelina?

We do not accept pets at Villas Jacquelina.

  • How far is Villas Jacquelina from Manuel Antonio National Park?

We are about 7 kilometers from the national park entrance. Most guests either drive or take the bus that will take you from Quepos central directly to near the park entrance. Even if you do decide to stay in Manuel Antonio, you will likely have to take the same bus to get to the park as walking in Manuel Antonio is very difficult. Staying in Manuel Antonio, (right next to the National park) is a great option but a lot more expensive.

  • Are there any animals on site?

Yes, we have a security dog on site. His name is Leo and he is big but also super nice and does not bite.  We can keep him locked up if any guest has an issue.

Weather forecast in Quepos, Costa Rica

Weather in the Quepos and Manuel Antonio area of Costa Rica is not always what it seems and can be difficult to plan for.

During rainy season months, weather forecasts almost always project daily rain but  don't be fooled. Most of the year, rainy days start out sunny, hot and dry and end up with a few showers that often pass pretty quickly.

Our recommendation is to not let rain ruin your plans. Rain drops come down warm and showers can quickly become hot sun that can quickly dry you. Embrace the tropical rainforest around you and never pass up an opportunity to dance in the rain.
